Roger Buchanan: President and General Manager
Roger has been with AWDS since 1990 he started as a Service Technician and quickly moved up to mangement and then Vice President in 1991. Roger is a 4th generation Well Driller starting in the industry at the age of 12 going out and servicing wood rod tubular wells and windmills with his grandfather David Buchanan Sr. His Great Grandfather Burton Buchanan started in the Well Drilling business in 1890 with Buchanan Well Drilling in North East Nebraska. Roger became President and General Manager in 2002, upon the untimely death of the previous owner Craig DeYoung. Roger also works closely with the Idaho Ground Water Association and is the President of the Association for 2010. In his off time he enjoys spending time with his wife, children and granddaughter.
Alfred High: Vice President and Driller
Alfred has been with AWDS since the 1970's and is the longest working employee at the company. He started as a helper and with his aptitude for the industry and willingness to learn quickly moved up to become a Pump Technician and Well Driller. Alfred has been an instrumental part of the high profile jobs worked on for our clients and out of state projects in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Wyoming, and Utah. With his many years of experience he brings an unrivaled expertiese to his position. Alfred is a valuable member of the AWDS team and is a key part in the day to day work out in the feild. In his off time Alfred enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid outdoorsman he loves to fish, hunt, and camp.
Dennis Buchanan: Field Superindendant
Dennis became part of the AWDS team in 2006, he brings a many years of Well Drilling experience to his position. He has worked for Well Drilling companies and projects across the continental United States from New Jersey to California. Along with his brother Roger he is a 4th generation Well Driller with extensive work history and knowledge base in almost any type of water well or pump system. Dennis was formally trained as a tool and dye technician, and brings his machining tool experience to AWDS that is greatly utilized for our company and projects. In his off time Dennis enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren, most of his kids still live in Nebraska and he makes time to visit as often as he can. Dennis also loves to ride his motorcyle in the summer months.
Jared Buchanan: Driller and Pump Technician
Jared is a 5th generation Well Driller and brings a vast knowledge base to his position. He started with AWDS when he was 17 as a helper and worked until he served our country in the United States Army from 2001-2003, once he was discharged from his Army duties he came back to work for AWDS and worked his way up to become one of our main drillers. On his off time Jared enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, they enjoy camping and fishing in the summer months. He also loves to drive his Camaro.
Jonathan Buchanan: Pump Technician and Driller
Jon is also a 5th generation Well Driller and started with AWDS in 2005 as a pump technician helper. With his eagerness to learn the business he has moved up to become one of our main Pump Technicians. Jon is a key memeber of our team working on our major projects and with some of our biggest clients. In his off time Jon loves to spend time with his friends and family and is an avid ATV and Dirt Biker.
Valarie Buchanan: Secretary
Val is the "face" or "voice" of AWDS she greets all of our clients with a friendly hello and a warm smile. Val started full time with AWDS in 2007 as the secretary but has been a big part of the company since 1990 when her husband Roger started. Val works in the office and keeps up with the day to day operations along with the countless hours of time spent with Roger on his many business trips and IGWA conventions. On her off time Val enjoys spending time with her children and granddaughter. She loves to craft and enjoys her birds.
Suporrt Staff: Shawn Abbott, Buck Staggie, David Sheppeck
Shawn, Buck, and DJ are a key part to the team at AWDS. Their main role is to help the Drillers and Pump Technicians complete projects on time and professionally. They are learning skills to move up in our company an in the Well Drilling Industry.
